Beach Camps

Beach Camps

In 2006, the inception of Beach Camps took root when Rainer, the visionary founder, stumbled upon the picturesque shores of Santa Maria, Sal. Drawn by the allure of sun-kissed beaches and perfect windsurfing conditions. He found himself captivated by this small African village. It was more than just a serendipitous encounter. It was a love affair that would shape the course of his life.

A PE teacher and volleyball coach from Germany, Rainer’s passion for the sport didn’t wane even in this remote paradise. His eyes lit up when he spotted a beach volleyball net nestled in the heart of Santa Maria’s coastline. Without hesitation, he began coaching the local children, imparting his expertise and sharing the joy of the game.

With each visit to his newfound haven, Rainer brought along essential volleyball equipment – balls, nets, courtlines – transforming Santa Maria into his second home. As the years passed, his involvement deepened. He not only coached beach volleyball but also took on the challenge of training indoor volleyball teams, culminating in the remarkable achievement of qualifying for national championships.

As Rainer’s bond with Santa Maria strengthened, so did his aspirations. A few years before bidding adieu to his teaching career in Germany, the seed of an idea sprouted in his mind – to establish beach volleyball camps in this idyllic locale. It was a dream fueled by a desire to share his passion for the sport and the beauty of Santa Maria with the world.

Beach Camps Today

And thus, Beach Camps was born. What began as a personal quest for windsurfing adventures evolved into a mission to create unforgettable experiences for volleyball enthusiasts of all ages and backgrounds. Today, Beach Camps stands as a testament to Rainer’s vision and the enduring spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship fostered on the sun-drenched shores of Santa Maria, Sal.
