A very nice stay in Santa Maria. The apartment is perfectly located and very spacious. Not too close to the center (relatively quiet at night) and close enough to everything to get around on foot.

Rainer – the founder of CaboLibre discovered Sal in 2006 – almost 20 years too late as he had already read an article about the secret windsurf paradise in a German windsurf magazine in 1986. It proved to be as good as described and so Rainer chose this island as his second home: the reason was not only the prefect wind and wave conditions but also the wonderful beach in front of Hotel Morabeza. There he also found a run down volleyball court at which some Capeverdian youngsters gathered to play together every afternoon. Since Rainer was a regular player in Germany and enjoyed the games with the locals, he started to bring all the necessary beach volleyball equipment from his home whenever he came there on holidays.
